WORKSHOP

The workshop we worked during practicum is very interesting as they have mechanics
separated by vehicle brands e.g. some mechanics repair Skoda, Volkswagen, others Toyota,
Lexus, Honda and so on. Depending on what they fix, they have a different color of overalls.
The bodybuilders had a different color of overalls again. I don’t see exactly the point in this
but that’s their way. The workshops are also separate. In one room there are two elevators for
quick service and chassis optics. There are 12 elevators in the second room, which is the
central space for all other repairs. And the last third space is the body shop where there are 6
lifts and body repairs. In the main workshop where I worked, there were large consoles or
discs containing oils, coolant, water, air, glass fluid… Each mechanic had his own elevator,
his own tools and one disc for air and one for electricity. Those big consoles with oil and
everything else were on 3 lifts. So that you grabbed the hose and poured directly into the
vehicle and no oil cans were needed. At the end of each tube is a counter that you reset and
write in the order how much you poured into the vehicle. This is a very good idea. In the
pantry, however, they have 1000 liters oil tanks and only the pipes are on after the work.
