Life abroad

Living in a foreign country takes time to get used to. There is a lot of ups and downs of living abroad. The great thing about living abroad is that you get to know new people and their culture. From this, you can see how diverse the world really is. But then you have a small problem and that is the language barrier. Here in Finland the people don’t know English very well and some people don’t even speak, so that’s the major problem.

Then we move onto the price difference, here some stuff like food the most important thing in life is more expensive than in Slovenia. But the good thing about that is that some stuff here is cheaper, like electronics. But for the time being Finland has been really nice to see. Living in our own apartment is also good, because it gets you ready for the future, for the times you go traveling. But living here has taught me some things like, how to communicate when people don’t know English and how to clean and wash stuff and iron clothes. But living here is also a little stressful because you don’t physically contact with your family and friend, the only contact is thru the phone. The big difference between living in Slovenia and living in Finland is the weather change. Here is like -5 or maybe even -10 while in Slovenia it’s always above zero, and here you still have snow and now small amounts of snow but huge amounts of snow like 30 cm or more.

But the biggest thing about living abroad is getting to know new people and making new friends. The people here are very different, people here are nicer than in Slovenia. But some Fins are really shy and not really outgoing, but you get used to that over time.
