I left my documents here

Olaa

It is our last whole day here and we took the advantage and slept till we couldn’t no more haha. Me and Antea didn’t want to waste any more time, so in around one hour we ate breakfast, got ready and made our way to the playa de Las Teresita, for the last time. It was another beautiful day so we were really excited to spend it there. We took everything super on chill, we didn’t even swim that much. Except it was quite windy on some moments. We were there from around 15:00 until 19:30. As usually we later walked to the bus station and drove back to the S.C.

Me and Antea were starving at this point and so we decided to go eat at KFC one last time. We got there, ordered what we wanted on the smart board and right when I wanted to get my card from the wallet I realised I don’t have it anymore. Immediate panic, I thought to myself this can’t be true and happening on the last day here, not even that, just a few hours before we leave back to Slovenia. Thank God I didn’t have my ID in there, but still. I had my credit card in there, a Slovene and European (for travelling abroad) health insurance card and some other but not that important.

Me and Antea didn’t know what to do first. At first I didn’t know when was the l had it with me. Was it on the bus to there, or I’ve maybe forgot it somewhere on the beach or on the bus back home. The time was around 8pm already and it slowly started to get dark, but we still decided to go to the beach and look for it there. In the meantime I called my mom and my bank back in Slovenia to let them know the problem and to block the card immediately. Sadly we had no luck, we were trying so hard to find it, but looking for a small pink wallet on a big sandy beach on a windy day doesn’t sound like much luck. By that time it was already 22:25 when the bus back to Santa Cruz arrived. I also asked a bus driver if he has someone’s contact to ask them if the wallet was maybe found on the bus, but he said that they’re not working anymore but that I should try and call them tomorrow in the morning. When me and Antea returned back to the city, we waited in the centre for a bit, until a police car stopped nearby. They were the last hope to let me know if someone has maybe found it until then. I explained them everything and they said that if someone found it, they had taken it to a station for lost things but the policeman said that it doesn’t work during the weekend. As soon as I heard him say that I knew there is nothing much I can do. I told them that I’m leaving the next day so calling them on Monday wouldn’t make much sense because I’d already be back in Slovenia.

What is funny is that the first time I was on Tenerife, I went with my family we got car robbed and they took our documents, thankfully they were found in the next three days. This time, it unfortunately won’t be like that. So yes, I’ve left my documents here, don’t know where or anything. One thing is for sure, I have definitely learned my lesson for the next time I’ll be here.
