What have I learned?

So, what have I learned? Well, that is a good question. So far I’ve learned a lot of useful things. For starters, work wise… I learned the basics of programming in Siemens. It’s harder then I first thought. To put it simple, Siemens PLC is what big fabrics use to have the machines running as they should or just for basic buttons and lights. We started with lights and buttons. So I first learned how to program, that when I press a button, the lights I want will turn on, and after pressing it again it will all turn off. Later I added, that when I flip a switch, the whole system will reset. We also learned a lot of other stuff. We got to know all the robots that roam the fabric, all the parts they are made of and what breaks most of the time. We replaced a lot of broken wheels with new ones. Soldered a bunch of cables, also fixed movement and other sensors. It’s really interesting and I definitely learned things I’ll use in my future.

I also learned stuff outside Iveco. Now I know visiting another country for a longer time isn’t as scary as it first sounds to some people. It’s easy to get used to another city fairly quickly, but it can never replace or be better than your home. Living on our own is nice when you have good company and same interests. So far we are just enjoying our last days here in Madrid. We will remember this place for ever, we also made some great new friends. I learned there is always nice to have friends across the world. The more the merrier.
