The second day in Tarragona was quite eventful. I had to get up at 6:45 to get ready and went to school with my host. All the exchange students (from Slovenia, Norway, Germany and Italy) and students from Spain gathered and presented their countries in a short presentation. Afterwards we got put into mixed groups and had a discussion about the European crisis. We talked about how the crisis effected all of our countries and started working on a presentation. I was quite hungry so thankfully, they offered us lunch which consisted mostly of sweets. Not that I minded though.
Next, we went on a tour of Tarragona and were told a lot of historical facts about Tarragona during the Roman times. We visited the Amphitheatre and the Roman Circus. Just when we finished with the tour it started raining. Most of us hadn’t brought our umbrellas but it didn’t rain that much so we got home mostly dry. After eating lunch and resting for a bit we all gathered again at a bowling alley. This time however, we didn’t forget to bring our umbrellas. We had a lot of fun bowling and then went to have dinner. When we finishe eating, the rain was pouring! We went to our next destination by car but just having to walk for 5 minutes after the ride got us completely drenched. It was raining cats and dogs and the umbrellas weren’t helping. We went to see people practicing the human towers and it was very interesting. It looked really dangerous climbing up levels of people and the youngest girl was about 5 years old. I can’t imagine myself ever doing that. At about 11 or 12 pm we had to walk back home in the rain with out pathetic umbrellas and honest to god, I couldn’t feel my feet and hands because I was completely wet and it was really cold. You’d think the weather in Spain is hot, well think again. Finnaly, we arrived at home and I took a long and warm shower to warm myself up. All of my clothes were so wet I was just happy to get them off and that my phone was not damaged. I went to bed quickly after that and fell asleep with hope for the next day to be rainless.
