The workshop was fun all the time.
My mentor Tuomas and I have a good relationship and that’s why we joke around all the time. Most of the time, it was because of something interesting on the car. When we had the car serviced, we noticed a bit of sand on the bridge of the car. We start by cleaning the sand, but we have seen that it is not just one or two pebbles but 2 kilos of sand. Another interesting case was when we were repairing the sliding door on a Transporter. There was a light on the dashboard saying the doors were open but we couldn’t open them. We tried every possible way, but the truth is that the car was frozen. When he was getting a bit desperate, he told me that we would not be able to open this door and that we would have to wait until next summer. Then we burst out laughing, but 15 minutes later the door opened on its own as the car was thawing out. He also told me a lot of his stories and we laughed a lot. When we went for a test drive, he always talked to me about the conditions when he was racing. He told me that in one race his co-driver told him the wrong number for the straight and they flew straight into the snow, leaving a trail of 20 metres. They then waited 1 hour for a towing service to arrive, then parked the car in the garage and went to the disco instead. I also told him about my adventures, and he was surprised by many things, because many things are different in their country.
