Finland – country of ice

Finland is a country of ice, and I am not comfortable with that. It is my first time in Finland or in a country where there is a lot of snow and I do not like it. For the first time it was funny but now it is just annoying.

My favorite time of the year is spring and I really don’t like winter. But we are here to see something new and ice on the road is definitely new. They do not put salt on ice or snow because it would be so expensive so it is easier to buy a lot of sand.

They have snow from november to april, an average temperature is between 0°C and -22°C.

The guy I spoke with said that it is normal to slide around the street. I was so amazed when I saw that mostly nobody wears boots, because in Slovenia when there is 2cm of snow outside we wear warmer boots and jackets.

I think after that experience I would love snow more than I love it now. 🙂
