Living abroad

After almost one month living in Zaragoza, we learned a lot of new things about life in Spain. Everything is different than in Slovenia that’s why we had some problems at the beginning.

At first, we were surprised that some stores are open on Sundays. We were really happy about this because trough the week we don’t have that much time to go in the store, mostly we can go there just at the weekend. The next thing that’s different is the weather. In Slovenia we don’t have such strong wind as here. We had to get used to it because here the wind blows almost every day. Also the temperatures here are really high, around 25 degrees. People who live here told us, that these temperatures are not normal for this time of the year, but after all we really liked the current temperatures. Most people here have a “siesta”, which means that they have a rest. We took it very seriously and we had our “siesta” or rest almost every day.

We also got used to the fact that almost no one here speaks English. In our free time, we used various applications to learn some key words, with which we could understand each other at least a little. But after all this time living in Zaragoza it’s not that hard to understand each other anymore, because everyday we listen to people talking and get to know quite a few new words.

We really love living here, so none of us is in a hurry to return to Slovenia.
