Here we come Helsinki!

In the morning, the girls and I woke up and quickly got ready and went to the train station despite being very tired. The plan was simple, travel to the capital city of Helsinki. We sat by the large window and watched the beautiful snowy surroundings. Just before the town, the tracks led the train across the lake. Although the lake was frozen, the view was beautiful and we could only imagine how beautiful it would be in the summer. We reached our destination. A huge train station, like in the Harry Potter movies. We decided to find a Starbucks first and after a long time have a good coffee and think about how we will explore the giant city. I can admit that we didn’t organize anything beforehand, everything happened spontaneously. We found a museum close to us and after thinking about it, we went inside. We were overjoyed when we found out that the tour is free due to the late opening. The display of furniture and paintings was wonderful. I was very drawn to the details on every ne of them. We left the museum with a smile, which was quickly blown away by the strong wind. We found shelter in a shopping center, where we spent an hour or two. Then our stomachs started to growl, which meant it was time for lunch. We smelled Italian cuisine and quickly found an affordable restaurant. Otherwise, it was far, but they would do anything for a good pasta. I ordered pizza, and Erisa and Melanija wanted to be more ladies and order pasta in white and red sauce. The food came very quickly, my pizza smelled and looked divine, while on the other hand the pasta… well, it didn’t. The pasta was not cooked enough and the sauce was very tasteless. But that didn’t spoil our mood. We ate as much as we could and still a little hungry went for a walk by the sea. We also took a couple of nice pictures. We smelled food again. Pancakes this time. We went hunting for them and found them. Unfortunately, not at the right time, as they are only served in the morning. Nevertheless, we treated ourselves to dessert and ate it with pleasure. After that, we walked around the city with full bellies and saw its sights. Helsinki is a very nice and big city compared to Lahti. It was getting late and it was time to head home. Due to the cold, our phones were almost dead, so we had to hurry. At home, we all quickly took a hot shower and fell asleep with joy on our faces in a warm bed thinking about a well-spent day.
