Here in Tonder, there is a lot of point on us learning to weld. Some of us tried welding at home or in practical learning but others were welding for the first time.
We were familiar with the rules about the welding and the gear that we need for it, but did not quite know how to use it.
We know there is 3 main types of welding.
ARC- is the oldest of these 3 welding processes. It also can be the cheapest methode of welding, beacuse minimal materials and energy is used to complet the job
MIG(GMAW)-is using the wire as an electrode. Wire gets fed from the machine, trough the welding instrument. For this welding we also need gas(MIG) and glasless(flux core). The wire for MIG welding is more expensive, so MIG is a bit expensive than ARC
TIG- is the most versatile of all 3, but it’s the hardest one to master, and it takes alot longer than 2 other methods. The welds from TIG are also the highest quality.
We tried MIG and TIG, and i can say that MIG is very easy but TIG is a pain in the a**, beacuse u have to be calm and have a steady hand. I like MIG the most beacuse is fast, but if you want a nice weld, I would prefer TIG.
