Exploring Sønderborg on a Run

During our lunch break at school, we started talking about what we could do and explore in Sønderborg. Since the weather was perfect—sunny and not too cold, we decided that going for a run would be a great way to see more of the city while getting some exercise. At first, it was just me, Tibor, and Vito, but after some convincing, we even got our teacher Laban and a few other friends to join us.

We all started running together, heading toward the sea, but along the way, we split up as everyone ran at their own pace. In the end, it was just me, Vito, and Tibor. When we reached the sea, we took a moment to take some photos and enjoy the view. The sea looked amazing with the sun shining on it, and the whole atmosphere was really peaceful.

After a short break, we continued running along the coast until we reached Sønderborg Castle, which is also right next to the water. We stopped there for a while to rest and check out the castle. The most interesting part for me was definitely the old cannon outside, I obviously had to take a picture with it.

From there, we ran into the city center, where we saw a lot of cool landmarks, sculptures, and unique, colorful houses that looked completely different from what I’m used to. We also noticed that there are a ton of cafés in the city, so we’ve already made plans to come back and try some of them.

We kept running through the center for a bit, but then the wind started picking up, and it got pretty cold. We figured it was best to head back before we got sick. Instead of taking the same route, we chose a different path so we could see even more of the city on our way home. In total, we ran around 5 km, and honestly, it was such a great experience that we’re definitely doing it again, this time, for sure, with our teacher joining us
