As we flew over Helsinki, I immediately noticed the difference in architecture and landscape. Forests, lakes, and plains with numerous planted trees dominate. Upon landing at the Helsinki airport, we first rented a car to reach our final destination in Mikkeli. On our way to Mikkeli, we observed that the landscape mostly remained the same; forests and lakes predominated. The buildings and houses are quite similar to each other, often being new constructions designed in accordance with traditional Finnish architectural styles. I found the people to be different – not as lively as us. They are more reserved and calm. The school system is also different. I had the chance to experience their practical lessons, and I personally preferred it. The food is completely different, with other spices and types of dishes.
