During my four weeks in Jyväskylä, I’ve learned that it’s really important to know what you want to do in life and to take charge of your own learning. One of the things that stood out to me was how students here have the opportunity to personalize their education. After making a decision, students can choose between more practical or theoretical learning paths.
For those who prefer practical learning, they can get driving licenses and gain hands-on experience, like driving trucks. On the other hand, students who are more interested in theory can focus on academic subjects, diving deeper into the knowledge they need for their future careers.
This system allows students to pursue what truly interests them, making their learning journey more relevant and engaging. It showed me that choosing a path in life is not just about following what others do, but about understanding what you enjoy and where you want to go. It’s an approach that empowers individuals to shape their education based on their goals.
