A VERY IMPORTANT TASK

Today me and Miha’s day started as any other. I woke up at 6.30, got ready for school and we left our dormitory.

Our mentor Simo told us on Monday, we could join him and one of his students Williem on a driving lesson with a truck today. We watched Williem do the daily check of the vehicle. After that we drove to the Taipale, where the school has polygon for reverse truck driving. First Williem tried it with Simo’s instructions and then he tried it without any help. When he was done, it was Miha’s turn. He did an amazing job and when he finished, we went back to school.

In school Simo told us, we had a very important task to do after lunch. We were curious what the job was but when we continued the lessons it didn’t sem like we were doing anything special. We were just driving around and after about two hours we were back at school. Simo said we will take a coffee break and he will meet us back at the truck soon.

I was confused since I didn’t really do anything to need a break, but I guessed it is just a habit. Finnish people have but lots of coffee breaks throughout the day.

Simo didn’t show up for quite some time, so me and Miha became a little nervous. When he finally came, he gave Miha car keys and told us to go get the car. We did as he said and when he joined us, he said it is time for our very important task. The task is to pick up a washing machine he bought on black Friday. We all started laughing and I couldn’t believe his words.

Miha rode us to the store and during the whole ride we were talking about every different thing. It was actually pretty fun and I felt a bit more useful, although I was just sitting in passenger seat watching others do the work for the whole day.
