Last friday we left work early and went to visit a museum 60km from Tallinn. Drive there was pretty boring because it was all just highway, so naturally, I fell asleep. Eventually, we got there and we parked in the back of these really old building. We step out of the car and at the same time we say “Oh no this is going to be so boring”… Then we go inside and we were all amazed and our eyes almost popped out. There were so many sports cars, formula cars, motorbikes. What was even more amazing is that all was a private collection. So we started our tour at the history boards. The tour guy explained to us all of Tallinn’s motorsport racing history. At first, it was interesting, but then more and more stories were about politics. Finally, it was time to go and see the cars. The first car was a Bmw m1 in the original state. Even the dust from race tracks was not wiped off. It was so awesome to see that car, and my friend even got to sit in it. I wanted to get in too but unfortunately, I’m too big, so there’s no way for me to fit in. Maybe I would get in but I would probably stay there forever because there’s so little space to get out of that car. We continued the tour and saw some more really awesome cars like Le mans 24 car, and formula 3, formula junior, go-carts, dragsters, racing motorbikes…
Nonetheless, it was a really nice museum and I still can’t believe that everything we saw was privately owned. I enjoyed the museum and got to know a lot about Estonian motorsport. I would recommend to everybody to visit the Momu museum, it won’t disappoint.
