The end of Sønderborg

All good things come to an end, and so it was time to say goodbye to Sønderborg. Days full of exploration and learning about a new culture are behind us. The city surprised me with its tidyness, beautiful views and friendly people. A walk along the coast was always relaxing, especially in sunny day, when the atmosphere was really special.

The student home where we stayed was very spacious and well equipped. What I liked most was that we had enough areas where we could hang out and play ping pong, pool and table football. I especially appreciated the gym, which I used regularly, as it allowed me to stay active even during my exchange. The only minor inconvenience was the distance from the school, but on the other hand, the morning walk was a good opportunity for fresh air and a relaxed start to the day.

Sønderborg also has an interesting nightlife, which is not difficult to find during the weekends. The city is not too big, but it still offers a few bars and places to socialize, which was welcome for relaxing after a week of work.

In addition to exploring the city, we also had the opportunity to get to know the Danish school system better. The lessons were held in a relaxed style, the teachers were approachable and willing to help, and the students were very open to conversation. I noticed that there is a lot of focus on independent work and discussions, which I find an interesting way of learning.

The exchange brought me a lot of new things. I met new friends, improved my language skills, and experienced a different way of life. Every day was a special experience that taught me something new. If I had the chance, I would definitely come back again, because those weeks remained in my very fond memory.
