Our trip to Finland was quite long, in fact it took us like 16 hours, so we were REALLY TIRED by the time we reached our destination; Hotel Uusikuu, Mikkeli.
Our trip began at our school parking lot, where we met at 01:00AM. We said goodbye to our families and proceeded with GoOpti, the journey to Graz Airport. The drive took us about 2 hours, and the airport opens at 05:00AM so we had some time to kill. When the airport finally opened we took a seat in the waiting room and some of us watched movies, the others slept, some ate,… our flight was sceduled for 06:05AM, so about 30 minutes earlier we began boarding ourselves onto the plane. The plane was small, so we could feel every single thing that happened to it on the outside. When the shaky 1hour flight ended at the Munchen Airport, we again had some time left before our next flight. Most of us went around the shops at the Munchen Airport, bought some souvenirs, ate a sandwitch and began boarding our flight to Helsinki. The plane we flew in was bigger than the previous one so it was a much smoother flight. Unfortunately the weather was really cloudy and foggy so we couldn’t keep track on our trip to Finland through our windows. When we landed in Helsinki the weather was a bit better and we could see a lot of lakes that the Finnish have. Helsinki Airport was quite a mess, I got a feeling that not everyone knew what they were doing there. Nevertheless eventually we found our way to our bags and proceeded to the train station that is connected to the airport. We were waiting for about 30 minutes until the train arrived and we drove for about 20 minutes to Tikkurila where again we had to wait for the train to Mikkeli, so we have visited the supermarket that is connected to the train station and bought ourselves a meal. When the train to Mikkeli arrived, we boarded it and slept through almost entire ride, that lasted 2,5 hours. When we arrived to Mikkeli train station at about 17PM, Matej rang Seppo and he came with Touevo to give us a lift to our Hotel. There we went to our rooms, quickly unpacked and got ready for bed.
The trip altogether was quite exhausting but when I went to sleep it was the best sleep I’ve had in quite some time.
