Denmark in general, part 2.

Danish have very new cars, old cars are rare here. Small cars are very popular. A lot of young people have small cars instead of bigger one. I think a good reason for this is because it costs less money for registration and the car itself. Smaller cars are easier to drive, especially on small roads and in cities. Many of them are also hybrids and fully electric cars. Gasoline here isn’t that expensive, if you compare the prices to Slovenia. Here it cost around 1.66€/L, but I think it’s still too expensive.

People are kind and calm. Everybody here seems calm and easy-going. I think they are a bit introverted, because they don’t talk much. They really don’t talk about personal things, even between themselves.

Their school system is also quite different, at least in high school. First, they have 20 weeks of basic subjects, after that they have practice at their company. After practice, they still have 6 more segments to go through. Between every segment they must go to their company to do practical work, there they need to show what did they learn in school. It’s interesting that they have one subject the whole week or even more. In school they have both theory and practice. Even if they have theory, they still implement practice. In that way they can see what they learned. Lessons are also more relaxed then in Slovenia. The teacher doesn’t write down the missing students and other teachers often interrupts the class. It was strange for me that there were students all ages. Some were over 45 years old. They are going to school because they could get a better job in their company. One teacher also told us that the students get money from their company (around 7500 kr) that’s 1000€ every month. And when the student prove they have learned something, the company gets the money back from the country. So, it’s a win-win situation. In less practical schools, they use potable tablets instead of books. That’s much better than in Slovenia, because they only need the tablet in school.

Prices here are high. For example, only 0.5l of Coca-Cola cost 2€ in the biggest shop in the city. In smaller shops it can cost up to 3€ per bottle. It’s weird that the 1.5l of Coca-Cola, costs the same (2€) or it’s even cheaper. But if you buy the whole 20x pack of Coca-Cola cans it’s very affordable. For every little chocolate bar, you must pay around 1.5€. But in restaurant prices only go up, so we try to save some money there.

Coronavirus situation got worse since we are here. I liked it so much when we didn’t need to wear masks. I didn’t have to put a mask on for 3 weeks, but now we must wear them. Every Danish obeyed the rule, I think that’s the reason they have less covid cases.

As a country I really like Denmark now, because they know how to run a country. Everything is just very organized and just as it should be. It seems clean here. I just don’t like the weather here. All the time it’s cloudy and windy, often even rain. It isn’t so cold here, for now. This time I think it’s colder in Slovenia then here. I can’t forget to mention the beautiful Danish girls, they are spectacular.
