Tampere is the second largest urban area and third most populous municipality in the country, after Helsinki and Espoo municipalities.The city is surrounded by the municipalities of Kangasala, Lempäälä, Nokia, Orivesi, Pirkkala, Ruovesi, and Ylöjärvi. Tampere is 160km away from Helsinki. It’s located in the south of a Finland. The Tampere city is in between two lakes Näsijärvi and Pyhäjärvi. The area of the city is 524.89 km2. Currently there are 228,173 inhabitants in Tampere.
Tampere is a hometown of Finnish ice hockey. Two exceptional ice hockey teams come from Tampere: Ilves and Tappara. They are most successful teams in Finland.
Tampere is also home to one of the last museums in the world dedicated to Vladimir Ilyich Lenin.
