Since Finland is a country with many many metal bands, I really wanted to attend a concert here. I’m missing quite a lot of them back home, so I decided to fill the void and instead go to one here. I did a little research and found one that wasn’t really my cup of tea at first to be completely honest.
Sonata Arctica are a Finnish power metal band that has been active since 1995. Their songs are melodic and you can clearly make out the massage. Their stage performance was also really amazing, since the singer was really interactive. I did not understand a single word he was saying but it was still really lovely.
The support band was more of a rock band called Temple Balls. I didn’t expect to like them live at first but they really grew on me. A few of their songs are really not that bad.
I decided to go alone, because I hate making people go with me to events that they won’t really enjoy. This was no problem to me, since concerts and events like this are a great place to meet new people. I met two of the most loveliest people in the world. They told that this was their 4th time seeing Sonata Arctica.
I’m kind of sad that I haven’t heard of this band before, but still it’s never too late to start listening to it now.
Another Finnish band that I really wanted to see sadly didn’t have any concerts in this time frame. Funny enough they actually have a concert on the 30th of march not that far away from Lahti. I just hope that they’ll come a bit closer to Slovenia at least once before they stop playing.
