Looking back

So, we have just arrived back in Slovenia. We have been back for about a week now and all I can say is… I really miss Madrid. I miss the people and my co-workers as well as my friends there. Also, right when I got back to Slovenia, I cought a cold. In Madrid I was much healthier and felt better. Maybe that means I should’ve stayed there, since it looks like my body likes it there. I was thinking that in the summer, I might go back, maybe visit Valencia and Barcelona. I’ve always wanted to visit those places. But definitely in the summer, since the temperatures are much higher. I really liked Spain, but my friend from Madrid told me that in Barcelona the people aren’t as friendly as Madrid. She sas they don’t like tourists and new people that move there. But she recommended the visit to Valencia, it’s beautiful. I asked her about the jobs in Madrid, when I was joking that I want to move there. She told me that a lot of people don’t have a job, in fact you are lucky if you find a job in Madrid even with a high education. I gues in Slovenia, it’s easier to get a job, but not that much. Most of our students that have a high education, decide to move to other countries, like to Germany, Austria and Switzerland. We call it the “brain drain”. Temperatures are a bit higher in Madrid, we would go to work at around 6am and the temperature was about the same as it is in the afternoon here. On a nice afternoon in Madrid, we could walk around the city in a hoodie, as long as there was no wind. You can’t do that in Slovenia, it’s too cold most of the time. Madrid was amazing and I hope I will visit it again one day, I’m going back to Spain for sure soon though.
