After two weeks on Tenerife we switched our workplaces. My classmate and I now work at Ancoratex. It’s not a very big workplace. The company is owned by a family, who inherited the company from the wife’s parents. The wife’s parents call eachother grandpa and grandma. They still come to work each day at 12 PM. The rest of us start at 9 AM and work to 2 PM. We were printing sewing labels on fabric. When we finished that we cut the fabric into squares and after that we bent it diagonally and sewn it together to make kerchieves for children in a kindergarten. On Tenerife children in kindergartens and primary schools have to wear uniforms. The classmate and I made an experimental model for a costume for a Carnival. The boss then tested the model on a mannequin and adjusted the fitment. She also adjusted the neckline. After that her husband showed us the collection of the costumes for the Carnival and then he showed us how different kinds of printing on fabric look like, when he was adjusting the patterns, which he was making on his computer.
I enjoy working in this company, because everyone is working with positive energy and time flies by really fast.
