Yesterday I and mechanic which I work with replaced front springs on new Renault Megane. When we were replacing them we needed to remove brake calipers, brake pads and brake discs. We also needed to remove front axles and suspension arms. Then we could replace springs. After replacement we put all back together. When we finished he said to me to sit in car and pump brake pedal to make it hard. He said to me with his broken english that we always need to pump it before we go out of garage. Next day we had to replace them on the similar car. We removed everything needed. Then we replaced springs. After replacement we put all things back together. Then we lowered elevator and sit in a car. Mentor started car and start moving forward towards to the portcullis. There is a small ramp in garage. When we came to it, mentor stepped on brake pedal. But we have not stopped because he forgot to pump brake pedal before. We had crashed in portcullis. Then there was silence in the car for few seconds, and then we both burst in laughter. There was not damage on the car, but portcullis was a little damaged. We fixed them and went on test drive. Teaching of this story is: “Always pump brake Pedal”.
