FLIGHT TO FINLAND

It started on Sunday morning when my dad came to wake me up because I fell asleep because I didn’t hear the alarm clock. When he told me I was asleep I was initially scared that I had missed the flight, but there was still plenty of time and I calmed down.

My parents took me to the Jože Pučnik-Brnik airport. There we met with the professors and the other four students at 5.30 am.

At 7.05 am we flew to Germany to Frankfurt with a smaller on which can go about 90 passengers. We flew for about 60 minutes. That was the first time I flew with a plane, but I wasn’t scared. I expected the plane to be quieter than it was as it was quite loud.

When we landed in Frankfurt, we took the bus off the runway to the airport terminal, where we had 15 minutes to eat, drink or go to the toilet. We boarded an Airbus plane. This aircraft was larger than the first, with 192 passengers on board. This plane was a little quieter than the first, but it bothered me because there was no music or radio playing. We hung out a bit with the other students to waste our time. When we flew over the sea there was a very nice view. It was really wonderful since I saw something like this for the first time. We landed in Helsinki, where we took the train from the airport to the train station, where we went to eat. Then we took the train to Tampere. There we were met by Thomas who took us to the Dream hostel where we stayed for the first two weeks.

I really enjoyed flying, but the most interesting thing for me was when we flew from Frankfurt at 10 o’clock and arrived in Helsinki at 13 o’clock, even though we only flew for two hours. Finland is one hour ahead of Slovenia and it was not a problem for me to get used to being one hour ahead.
