Denmark is a Scandinavian country located north of Germany. More than 5.5 million people live in it. Its area measures 43,000 square kilometers. Denmark has the highest population density among the Nordic countries in terms of surface area.
The town of Sønderborg lies on both sides of Alssund. Alssund is a narrow strait between the island of Als and the mainland of Jutland in Denmark. The city is an economic center in southern Denmark. It mainly deals with electronics, products, food processing, information technology and telecommunications. The city is also very rich in educational institutions. Some of the bigger ones are: University College Syd and Business Academy SouthWest, EUC Syd, Sonderborg international school. The city is also very famous for artists, equestrian sports and industrial tourism. The city also has a lot of events, some of the bigger ones being Christmas lights with fireworks, horse shows and sports events.
