In Denmark, cycling is very important, as cyclists are equal participants in city traffic. There is a bicycle lane along every road and in the city there are additional lanes designed for faster cycling. The sidewalk in Denmark is one meter wide and a bit lower is a more than two meter wide bicycle lane. The Danes also have strange traffic lights for cyclists and pedestrians, which have a green wave coordinated with a short one to allow cyclists to ride continuously to work or school. Cyclists strictly follow traffic lights and the direction of travel. The Danes say: Everyone on a bike for a healthy body!
