After the first week in Madrid i could already see a lot of difrences in life back home and in Spain.
First thing that i saw was already on the way from the airport to the appartment and that is that there arent many green surfaces in the city other than in parks where in Slovenia even in the big citys like Ljubljana there is a lot more greenery everywhere, even though you couldnt realy compere Slovenian citys with Madrids size. Just in Madrid alone there is almost 3.4 million people living there which is more than in all of Slovenia.
Next thing is that they have very good public transport system. If you dont like buses which are run by company called Municipal Transport Company of Madrid (EMT) which is like LPP in Ljubljana, you can use Metro (underground train), normal train and in some parts of Madrid trams. So on the side of public transport they have it figured out, but even if you have so many choises you can stil be late, if metro line is stopped for some reason, and in the morning rush buses are likely to be late.
Spanish people are also very active later in the day, so restaurants, bars and clubs all open later in the day or the night and are open till 5-6 am. The prices in this are almost identical but still slightly higher.
The city streets are also very clean, thats because every couple of days city workers clean them with water, blow leaves and sweep the trash on the sidewalks, they use trucks to clean the roads, and they collect garbage every day at 11pm which is slightly anoying if you want to go to sleep early.
Even though there are a lot of things that i like about Madrid and life there i wouldnt like to live there, mostly because their working hours.
